Keeping your child home
The school nurses work on the assumption that you have made the decision your child is well enough to attend school. Our goal is to assist in keeping children well enough to remain in school. We will do our best to provide interventions that will promote wellness and keep them in class. However if they present with the following we will contact the parent to pick them up:
- Fever of 100.4 or higher
- 2 or more symptoms of a suspected communicable disease
- Persistent vomiting or diarrhea
- Suspected fracture
Please consider keeping your child at home if he or she has a fever of 100 degrees or higher (without being medicated), has been vomiting, has a severe sore throat, or other symptoms that would prevent him or her from participating in class. If you send your child to school, we are operating under the assumption you wish for the child to remain in school. Please contact your school nurse with questions or concerns regarding sending your student to school.
