We are currently reading The Berlin Box Club by Robert Shaw. Shaw researched his information for this book by interviewing people who lived in Nazi Germany. He stated that their stories made history come alive more than any book could ever do. Shaw hopes that readers will learn from the past to move forward in the future. The setting of the story is during the tumultuous 1930s in Berlin, Germany. The main character, who is 14, is named Karl Stern and is deemed an outcast. Trying to prove his self-worth, he stables upon the opportunity to prove himself in the boxing ring where he realizes this may be his family's chance for survival/
