Hello Newport Families
We have some exciting news to share with you! Over the past several months we have been working on a partnership to create a fun and unique learning space for our schools and community: A district-wide garden. The vision for this project is to connect with as many students, staff members, and community members as possible!
We are excited to work directly with Mallory McClure, who is one of only five community mentors for the PA Farm to School Network, to see this vision come to fruition! We would also like to recognize the Hoverter Foundation and Penn State Health. These organizations are providing the resources necessary to procure all supplies to establish the garden. Because of all these organizations, the District is able to access critical supplies and work with a variety of community partners to not only strengthen our school community, but Perry County as a whole!
Students are already getting involved in this process and we will continue to share updates as we transform this interactive learning space.
